Scrap Brain Skirmish

As the Tornado came in for a landing, lasers fired from about ten or twenty turrets and struck the little bi-plane. Bunnie grabbed Antoine and jumped to safety as Tails grabbed Sally and did the same. Sonic grabbed White and the two of them jumped off right before the plane hit. Sonic looked down and the shattered mess of an aircraft.
"Aww man, Tails is gonna be bummed when he sees that."
White looked down at the Tornado then back ahead. "Why is that?"
Sonic sighed. "There's a lot of good memories with that plane. It was once called the Freedom Stormer and we used it to foil a couple of ol' Butt-niks plans."
White smiled as they landed. "You must be referring to the Naga Incident."
Sonic looked at White in surprise. "How'd you know about that?"
White took a green object off his belt and began to examine it. "We were originally meant to meet there but the raid your group conducted a day or two before hand caused that plan to be canceled."
Sonic's went wide in surprise as Sally and the others joined him. "You serious man?"
White nodded and then looked at Sonic. "Yes and if I had been there I doubt you would have been so successful."
"Been where?" asked Sally, alarmed by Sonic's expression and White's comment.
White and Sonic spoke at the same time. "Naga."
Sally paled as did Bunnie. "Oh mah stars, that place was nasty enough with Robotnik there and all the traps with out having you to contend with."
White smiled and chuckled. "I know. But that is the past, we are in the present. Let's take on Julian and take him down."
"Wee, wee, my friend." said Antoine nodding. "Let us be kicking…"
Sonic laughed. "Kicking bot-butt, Ant."
"Yes, yes, sank you Sonic." Everyone but White looked at Antoine in surprise. "What?"
"You've never thanked Sonic like that before, Ant." said Tails.
"No worries man, plus we got a fat man to take care of."
White nodded. "I agree. Sonic and I will head straight in and after Robotnik The others need to go after his badnik producing facilities." he tossed a medium sized bag at Sally. "In here are explosives that are each the equivalent of two large packs of C4. Use two per factory. Destroy enough factories and the main power generator will have a… problem."
Sally smiled and nodded. "Thanks, White." she then turned to the others. "Let's go, guys."
"Hold up, Sal." said Sonic and she looked back at him. "Forgetting something?" he said putting a hand out.
She and the other smiled and soon all put their hands on Sonic's. Even White joined in at the insistence of Sonic. Then they all spoke the words they had spoken so long ago.
"Freedom Fighters forever!"
They then broke into their teams and rushed off.

Sonic and White blazed into Scrap Base and began the slaughter of badniks. The outer area was fairly challenging for Sonic but White had a ball since his preferred long range combat with grenades. Sonic on the other hand was continuously dealing with ranged attacker that he could not get to. However, his speed was still his greatest weapon as he approached the main doors of Robotnik's HQ. Soon they reached the doors and Sonic buzzed right through with White following close behind.
Soon they were speeding throughout Robotnik's base at top speed and avoiding traps that Robotnik had made specifically for Sonic but White knew of them and warned Sonic when ever they got close to one. The only ones that Sonic had a problem with were the ones that involved the disappearance of the entire floor. However, White always saved his quills when ever he got taken by one of those traps.
As they neared the center of the fortress White let go of Sonic and engaged group of robots he saw marching to intercept them. Sonic blazed on, avoiding the last few electricity traps and the saw traps and soon saw Robotnik ahead standing there watching him. Sonic balled up and bashed into an invisible wall. Sonic righted himself and looked around. That was when he saw the force field and the button behind it. Robotnik smiled and stepped on the button.
White saw the trap but was too late as Sonic fell into the underground area of the base. White hovered there and looked at Robotnik with a good deal of malice but Robotnik smirked at him.
"So you decided to join up with that idiot, I see."
White smiled as the lights went out. "Who's the idiot now, Julian? The Freedom Fighters are still active and wanting to destroy you. I doubt the Colonials will stop them."
Robotnik bristled at the mention of the Terren Colonies. "I will pay them back for Snively and I will deal with you cursed animals once and for all once Sonic is disposed of."
White laughed. "You actually think you have what it takes to destroy Sonic? HA! Sonic has defeated you at every turn, Julian."
Robotnik turned and strode away. "Bah! I have more important things to do then to banter with you."

Sonic hit the nasty water under the base  hard and he skidded a little across the surface before sinking to the bottom. He glared up at the hole that he had fallen through but finally looked around and saw a large bubble and used it to get a little air. Soon he set off again and began to climb out. He became distinctly aware that the place was very similar to the labyrinth that he had gone through to get Sal. He avoided several Jaws-bots and fire spouting statues and made his way to the surface.
An explosion caused the roof of the cavern over him to collapse and he saw a red capped spring-board fall down. He went to it and looked up. There, over head was White looking down at him. White smiled and pointed to spring and Sonic jumped onto it. It shot him up and White grabbed him just in time and pulled him up. Sonic looked at White in concern.
"You okay, bro?"
White waved him off. "Don't worry about me, Robotnik is just ahead. It's up to you to take him down now."
Sonic nodded and White limped off and joined Sally and the others. He then turned and headed in the direction that White had pointed. This was it.
