Sonic's Adventures Story 1

Battle for Green Hills

The clouds moved lazily through the skies above as the lone hedgehog lay leaning against a rock. He was waiting for his little buddy to show up, but so far there had been no sign of his foxy friend. He closed his eyes and thought back to the old days. He could remember little T2 hiding in his back pack when ever they went into old Robotropolis and he could also remember that little T2 was personally responsible for some of the grief that Ol' Buttnik had gone through even if Tubbo did not know it. Now the big guy was near a match in smarts as the old man.
A sound caught the hedgehog's ears and he sat up and looked to the skies. There, high in the skies, was the Tornado, the plane that once been the Freedom Stormer back in the days of the Freedom Fighters.
"Hey Sonic, down there?" came a welcome voice.
Sonic picked up his radio. "Yo, little bro. I'm here."
Tails laughed. "I should have known you'd be there before me. Listen, I got a problem."
Sonic was instantly alert. "What kind of problem?"
"The robotic kind. Listen, I see what looks to be a large installation to the northeast. I can see what looks to be a large marble quarry, a place that looks like a storage place for spring boards, some submerged ruins, and then a highway suspended in midair that leads strait into the base."
Sonic smiled. "Cool, if there's a base with bots around, you know what that means."
Tails laughed again. "Yeah, ol' Egghead's gonna back an appearance."
Sonic smiled too. "Let's get 'im little bro."
With that Sonic revved and took off near the speed of sound and Tails banked in to give his buddy air support.

"WARNING! PRIORITY ONE HEDGEHOG ALERT!"
Robotnik jumped out of his chair and punched up the main screen. There was Sonic speeding into Green Hills and seemingly without a worry. Robotnik smiled and pressed a button. That should give that blue speedster something to think about. He had a new way of operating now and this way was surely going to get the best of Sonic.

A droning sound filled Sonic's ears as he shot into the Green Hills area. Then he saw it, a strange robotic bug on a singe wheel with what looked to be blades on it's two arms. It revved and darted at him Sonic jumped up onto an overhang and looked at the bug.
"Man, you're a quick one." Sonic commented as the bot rushed around below him.
"Sonic! Look out!" cried Tails over the radio.
Sonic instinctively dodged to the side as a large energy projectile hit the ground where he's been standing.
"Yeow! Very uncool man!" he yelled at the robotic bee that had attacked him.
The bee just blinked at him and then fired at him again. Sonic dodged again but this time he jumped into a tree. Without warning, Sonic was flying high. At that moment Tails flew by.
"Hey Tails." Sonic called cheerily.
Tails started. "Sonic? What are you…?" Sonic disappeared back down and then was back and hanging on.
"Got any thing for me?"
Tails just blinked and then nodded. "Uh yeah. These machines are not robotisized people but instead they have little animals inside them acting as batteries."
"Man, Ol' Buttnik got smart."
Tails nodded. "The problem with that though is that the bots have lightening fast reflexes so be careful."
"Can I take 'em out?"
"You bet. Look." Tails pointed to a screen in front of him.. Sonic looked and saw a schematic of the bug and the bee. "If you hit bounce into them while balled up, you can take out the bug and free the animal."
Sonic gave Tails a thumbs up. "Good job little bro. I knew I could count on you." Then Sonic dropped back down and bounced off a bee then a bug and two little animals skittered off.
Sonic smiled and then took off in the direction that Tails had mentioned earlier. As he rushed through the area he came across several other types of robots that tried to get Sonic. Instead, Sonic got them. He ran, spun, and bounced his way through the area and his attackers. Even the cloaking Newtrons were no match for speedy hedgie as he charged through. His first introduction to Robotnik's new spike traps left an impression but he kept pressing on. Finally he took a break on the top of a loop-de-loop and checked out his shoes. Though the spikes had not gone through all the way, they had come close.
Sonic took out a can of Nano-spray he had gotten from his dad before returning to the west and sprayed his shoe. He watched as the holes were sealed up and his sneakers made whole again. He hopped up and tapped a toe, preparing to run.
"Hey Sonic." came Tails' voice. He sounded worried.
"What's up, little bro?"
"I just got attacked but a robot that I've never seen before."
"Did it hurt you?"
"Nah, but the plane is pretty banged up. The thing is,… it's coming for you now."
Sonic rolled his eyes. "Yipee."
"Sonic, Don't underestimate it. It's lightening fast with amazing maneuvering abilities."
Sonic looked at the radio in surprise. "You serious T2?"
"Yes, Sonic. I'm very serious."
Sonic smiled. "Sounds like Ol' Buttnik finally made a challenging machine. Later T2, thanks for the heads up."
"No problem, Sonic. Good luck."

Robotnik sat in his hover ship and watched his greatest invention round up the last of the little animals. After they were prepared for transport, an automated ship would come and pick them up. His many badniks were trying their best, but they could not beat Sonic. His new machine might be able to, but the others… no. He would have to do that himself, as usual. He looked in direction that Sonic was coming from and heard a mini explosion as yet another badnik went down.
The sound of a pole bell ringing caught his attention and he looked in the direction of the pole and frowned. That was too fast. Sonic's speed had definitely improved. He revved up his hover unit and turned to his invention.
"White 001. Take one of the capsules and get out of here. I don't want you in this fight just yet."
The machine nodded. "Yes, Sir. Withdrawing."
With that the machine grabbed one of the capsules and took off as fast as it could go. Robotnik then turned and flew towards the high speed hedgehog, preparing to fight the hedgehog for the first time in two years.

The two arch enemies met in a clearing and looked at each other. Sonic noticed that Robotnik seemed to have lost a little weight and even got some glasses. He waved at his old arch-nemesis.
"Hey Buttnik, read to start it up again?"
Robotnik smiled. "Let's go, Sonic."
Robotnik pressed a switch and a large wreaking ball lowered from his craft and it began to swing toward Sonic. Sonic dodged easily but barely avoided the back swing. Sonic jumped up onto a nearby platform a jumped at Robotnik balling up just before impacting, the hovercraft's port engine. The result was a satisfying swearing from Robotnik told Sonic that he had found a weak spot. For the next few minutes, the two went at it. Finally Sonic scored an eighth hit and Robotnik jettisoned the ball and took off. Sonic rushed towards the last pod and popped it open, setting all animals free. Before he took off he looked around and saw what looked to be robotisized fox watching him. He realized suddenly that this had been the one who had attacked Tails.
Before he could say any thing to it, it took off. Sonic decided not to after it but instead get to Tails as fast as possible. He had the distinct impression that Tails had been right about this machine.. He had best be careful of it.
