     I am The Dreamer. I have seen other worlds and I have seen the future. The past and the present I have also seen. But what is true and what is fiction, none can say. I have stood atop the greatest mountains at the birth of mankind's existence and have been in the dust when mankind dies. I have seen the rise, the glory, and the fall of the world and the domination of darkness and light over our people. You may wonder how this is possible, and I will tell you. It is the power of the imagination, my friends. The imagination can take you anywhere and to any time. You can live forever or you can die and go to next stage in life.
     These things I see with my eyes as if they were real and these things I hear as if they were next to me. I have felt the hum of the engines of a massive starship and the wind in my face on the back of dragons and they flew through the air. I have loved, I have hated. I have murdered and I have saved countless lives. I have felt the pride of being a father and I have felt the devastating loss of dying childless. The things that fill my mind often influence my reactions to the outside world and how I view them.
      Before some of you declare me mad, I ask this of you. Can one not dream of what life may or may not be? Can one not hope for a better life or learn to fear what could be in out future? No. As sentient beings our greatest power is the power to shape our lives and make it better or worse. Through imagination, the first men and women created tools to help them accomplish tasks such as hunting and gathering. It was the imagination of men and women that gave us the idea of taking animals as companions. It was imagination that allowed us to have carts, ships, cars, and airplanes. It will be our imaginations that will take us into the future and to the stars.
      I feel hope and dread for the future. What path will we follow? Will we destroy ourselves through greed and lust for power? Or will we learn to work together and set aside our differences? I look around and wonder this myself everyday. I imagine what it will be like. I see it through different eyes, eyes often not my own. I have been many things and seen many places. Who have I been? I will tell you.

I have been:
The Martyr dying for a cause whether good or ill
The Assassin and mercenary fighting for money
The Soldier in the trenches fighting for freedom
The Dragon flying high in sky looking down upon the world
The Immortal Vampire or Werewolf who lives for eternity
The Wolf that watches men from his mountains covered in snow
The alien that visits Earth to either conquer or befriend.
The Mage that accumulates massive amounts of power for either good or evil
I have been the man crippled by an accident and the one who is untouchable
The Angel or the Demon that fights for the souls of mortals
I have been the homeless and the filthy rich

      I have been all these and more. But what is more important is that I am still me. How can I call myself a human and not dream? How can I not hope and pray for a better life and future? And most important, how can I not fear the ending? The end of all things mortal… death. A saying I heard once sums it up perfectly;

"It takes more courage to live then to die."

      That is what it all comes down to. If you have the courage to live on a face this life with all it's uncertainties, then nothing can defeat you.
So dream… dream in the day and dream in the night. See what your heart sees and what your mind fears. Above all, Dream.
